Discover the Beauty of Herringbone Parquet Flooring with Renaissance Floor in-lays Company

Hardwood floors can be a beautiful accent to your home – and parquet floors can form a natural centerpiece.
Herringbone is a classic pattern, albeit one that is difficult to install – it is generally not recommended to try and install herringbone parquet flooring yourself (the same is true of most Renaissance hardwood floor inlays). The pattern originated in Europe and should be installed with the points either running in the longest direction of the room or towards a central focal point.
Herringbone parquet can be installed using a variety of materials and stains – normally oak or ash. Although the colors used are natural, they can range from near black to pale cream. Herringbone is often confused with chevron – but in a chevron pattern the boards meet in a true point, while in herringbone they are staggered, creating a more subtle effect. Herringbone is best installed in larger areas where the effect can be appreciated.
